Martijn van der Hulst graduated from Leiden University in 2009. Before completing his law degree, he completed an economics degree in 2004 with an Erasmus program in Madrid. In 2007, he started working as an administrative legal affairs advisor at Rijkswaterstaat and then, in 2011, as an environmental law legal advisor at Mees Ruimte & Milieu. He has been working as a lawyer at Corten De Geer Vastgoedadvocaten since 2018 and has also been a partner since 2024.

Martijn has been working in environmental law since 2007, representing the government as well as developers, businesses, and private individuals.

Martijn drafts public consultation responses and opinions and handles objection and appeal procedures. He also advises on enforcement, permits, planning damage, compensation for loss, administrative agreements, and environmental plans. Martijn also provides courses, training, and guest lectures on the Environment Act and is a lecturer in public law at the Academy for Real Estate.

Martijn is an open and goal-oriented lawyer with a sense of humor. He is practical, solution-oriented, and analytical, which enables him to guide his clients and present them with strategic choices that lead to the best possible outcome.

In his spare time, Martijn enjoys sports (hockey, gym, and running), cooking, barbecuing, and spending time with his family.

Areas of law register (Art. 35 b(1) of the Regulations on the Legal Profession)

Martijn is registered in the main areas of administrative law and environmental law. This registration requires the lawyer to obtain ten training points in each registered main area of law each calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Dutch Bar Association.
